Every year Thousands of Asian and African women leave their homes to work as maids in the the oil rich countries of the Middle East with the hope of securing a better economic future. Yet since their experiences are hidden behind closed doors, little is known of the fears and struggles they face while abroad.
The video below gives a small glimpse into the hard life of foreign workers in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states where there are no laws protecting women's rights.
One of the shocking examples given in the video is a foreign worker from Kenya who was sentenced to prison in Saudi Arabia after being raped.
Same Saudi Arabia, which for years served as the head of UN Human Rights Council.
This is what Sharia law looks like:
– There is no freedom of religion or freedom of speech.
– There is no equality between people (the non-Muslim is not equal to the Muslim).
– There are no equal rights for men and women.
– There is no democracy or a separation between religion and state politics.
Sharia laws permits child marriage, forced marriage, child brides, polygamy, FGM, acid attacks, honor killings, flogging, beheading and stoning.
